What is ropark 2mg?
ROPARK 2MG contains Ropinirole which belongs to the group of medicines called dopamine agonists. It is used to treat Parkinson’s disease and symptoms of moderate to severe idiopathic Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neuro-degenerative disorder, that predominately affects the dopamine-producing neurons in the brain.
It is characterized by rigidity, tremor, defective posture and gait and drooling with or without dementia. RLS is CNS disorder characterized by an irresistible urge to move the affected legs or arms, usually associated with tingling, burning or prickling sensation. It commonly occurs during the periods of rest or inactivity such as sitting or lying down, especially in bed, and are worse in the evening or at night.
ROPARK 2MG acts similar to that of natural dopamine in the brain and helps in the reduction of symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and RLS. While taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you experience any unusual behaviour (such as an unusual urge to gamble or increased sexual urges).
The most common side effect of this medicine is worsening of RLS. You might feel that your symptoms started more earlier than usual or be more intense or affect other previously unaffected limbs. Others include dizziness, drowsiness, feeling tired, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or dyskinesia. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms bothers you.
